Dogs Our Furry Little Friends and That Unbreakable Bond!

Having been a dog owner most of my life, I know just like every other owner across the world does, that the bond between owner and dog goes far deeper than just mutual love. In fact, having a dog keeps us healthy, and they actually teach us a lot that many of us are not aware of.

There have been many studies over the years on what benefits owning pets such as dogs have for us. For an example, did you know that people with dogs are less likely to suffer with strokes and heart attacks? This is because they de-stress us from our hectic everyday lives.

How many times have you come home completely stressed out from the day, whether it’s from work, personal relationships or money troubles? We all have these stresses, yet they seem to be forgotten once we are curled up on the sofa with our furry little friends.

Additionally, it has been shown that we take more interest in our very own eating habits when we are responsible for a pet. Pet lovers generally eat healthier, due to always wanting our pets to eat healthily. Whilst the daily walks do not just give the dog exercise, we get a healthy amount ourselves.

All of those things combined mean a much healthier lifestyle for us and a lower chance of developing any kind of heart disease.

Great For the Kids Too!

Dogs that are brought up in a family environment are also excellent for our children, again running and playing with the dog is great at keeping our children active. Additionally, the emotional bond a child will have for the family pet will teach them about responsibility. The companionship a dog has for your children will stick with them for the rest of their lives.

Dogs are the most loyal of animals and will always want to protect their owners which also act a deterrent for any burglar thinking about targeting your home.

Dogs may not always come across as the smartest of animals, yet they really are. They are used in police forces the world over, and not just for their guarding or attacking abilities. They are great at tracking, can locate hidden drugs or lost people simply through their sense of smell.

So, now that we know just what a dog can bring us and our family, we need to repay their loyalty, faith and companionship by taking only the best care of them. Love them and they will love us ten times back, this means feeding them healthily, giving them all the exercise that they need and keeping them free from ticks and fleas.

If we can do all of that and shower them with love, we will have a friend for life. They will be a friend that will constantly keep teaching us and keep us stress free long into our own lives.
